Privacy Policy — Zikir (ZikrReminder)

Zikir (also shown as ZikrReminder) is a free, ad-free Islamic reminder app for Android. Package name: com.rahmani.zikir. Developer: Md. Habibur Rahman.

The short version: the app works entirely offline, keeps everything on your device, and sends nothing anywhere. This policy explains that in detail.

Zikir shows a short dhikr when you unlock your phone. It also gives prayer-time reminders and a full-screen prayer (Salat) alert with an adhan sound, a tasbih counter, and a customizable dua list. It is available in Bangla and English.

There is no account, no sign-in, and no login. We run no servers of our own and keep no user profiles.

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app has no analytics and no feature for sending your information anywhere. Nothing the app stores ever leaves your device.

All app data is stored only on your device, in local storage. This is everything the app keeps:

• Your selected duas
• Any custom duas you add
• Your tasbih counts and saved sessions
• Your chosen district
• Your prayer-notification toggles
• Your reminder-sound choice
• Your pronunciation preference (Bangla or English)

Uninstalling the app erases all of it. We cannot see any of this data.

The app does not use GPS or device location. You pick your district from a list. Prayer times are then calculated on your device from coordinates that are bundled inside the app, using the adhan library with the Karachi calculation method.

The app does not record audio and does not use the microphone. It only plays short sound files that are included in the app, such as the adhan and reminder sounds.

Zikir contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers or data-collecting SDKs. It is built with React Native / Expo. All notifications are on-device local notifications — there is no push notification service.

The app requests the following Android permissions. Each is used only for the feature described:

• Notifications — show prayer-time and dhikr reminders.
• Display over other apps — show the dhikr popup when you unlock your phone.
• Full-screen intent — show the full-screen prayer alert on the lock screen.
• Run at startup — resume reminders after the phone restarts.
• Foreground service — keep the unlock listener running.
• Ignore battery optimizations (optional) — stop reminders from being killed in the background. You can decline this and the app still works.
• Vibrate — haptic feedback for the tasbih counter.

Zikir is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
